You can add the “Send from Gmail” extension to your chrome browser and it will open all mailto: links as a new message in Gmail.
It works particularly well when using your CRM or other cloud-based software and sending from Gmail.
You can also click on it while on a certain site and it will include a link to the URL of the site you are on in the body of the message.
